Malabar schools excel in CBSE exams

Sahodaya School complexes officials say 98 per cent of CBSE schools registered 100 per cent success.

Kozhikode: The schools in Malabar region have done well in the class-10 board examination results announced by the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) on Monday.

According to the officials of Sahodaya School Complexes of the five districts in Malabar, 98 percent of the CBSE schools registered 100 per cent success, with a significant increase in the number of students who scored above 75 per cent in their respective disciplines. "The students have put up a good show," said Mr N. Raman, education expert here. They have overcome the difficulties created due to the sudden shift from continuous and comprehensive evaluation to the age- old CBSE examination pattern, he added.

The brother- sister duo,Adheena Elsa and Aleena Elsa of Silverhills Public School, secured full A1. Aleena secured 99.6 percent while her brother secured 98.4 percent. A total of 133 students who appeared from the school secured 100 percent pass percentage, 18 students A1 and 73 got 90 percent and above.

Devagiri CMI Public School has achieved 100 percent pass for the 10th continuous year.

Out of 132 full passes, 78 students secured 90 percent and above marks. Eight students in maths, four in science and five in social studies received hundred percent marks.

K.G. Gayathri secured 494 ( 98.8 percent), Sana Saji 491( 98.2 percent) and Salman Faris 490 (98 percent) from the school.

All the 147 students from the MES Central School, Tirur, passed. Ten students secured 99 marks in English subject. Two students got 100 marks in mathematics, nine received 100 marks in social studies and two bagged full marks in Hindi, Malayalam and science.

Among the 51 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya-No 2, six students scored above 90.
