Congress seeks probe in to TRS MLAs’ wealth
Hyderabad: The Congress on Monday welcomed the income-tax department’s notices to over 40 TRS MLAs, including Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, seeking explanation into huge rise in their assets in the last 5 years.
The main opposition party in the state also demanded that the I-T department to conduct a detailed probe into the issue.
“There is no doubt that many ruling TRS MLAs have accumulated huge wealth through illegal means and their assets were disproportionate to their known sources of income. The I-T department should either conduct a high-level probe or recommend CBI or judicial enquiry into the swindling of public money by the ruling party legislators,” said TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy.
He also pointed out that “the KCR family has officially entered the `100- crore club without doing any business”.
