Will remove illegal pub, bars from Indiranagar: BJP candidates

Both the BJP candidates have agreed to hold monthly meetings.

Bengaluru: Residents of C.V. Raman Nagar and Shanthinagar constituencies met BJP party candidates for their constituencies S. Raghu and Vasudeva Murthy respectively on Sunday and presented their charter. They have already met candidates from Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.

The citizens’ charter has been prepared by residents of two constituencies under the banner ‘I Change Indiranagar’ (a federation of RWAs) with an objective to draw candidates’ attention to ensure sustainable living eco-system and at the same time promoting responsible citizenship through active and positive engagement.

In response to the citizen’s charter, both Mr Raghu and Mr Vasudeva signed it and took a pledge to resolve major issues bothering the constituencies, right from illegal commercialisation of residential areas, illegal pubs and bars, garbage menace, violation of building bylaws and shrinking green cover. Sneha Nandihal, citizen activist and president of a RWA, told Deccan Chronicle, “Issues in the constituencies aren’t new. They have been there since last elections. But this election, we have come out as a force and are fighting for our rights in a united manner, which no longer could be ignored.”

We have met candidates from AAP, Congress and BJP candidates and all of them have agreed to implement our citizens charter. We have to wait and see how far the winning candidate will implement our demands, she added. Both the BJP candidates have agreed to hold monthly meetings.
