Bengaluru: For aspiring doctors in the state Physics paper was lengthy and the toughest of all three at the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 held on Sunday.
More than 96,000 students from the state appeared for test, which is the gateway to MBBS and BDS seats at institutes across the country.
Arjun B from DCFL PU College felt that even though the test, in terms of overall difficulty level, was easier than last year, some questions from the Physics section consumed a lot of time.
For Chitra Alse, another candidate, the in-depth preparation and hard work came handy while answering application based questions. "
Expert view
According to Dr Sridhar G, Founder of Deeksha, this year's paper was tougher than 2017. "While the Biology paper was along expected lines, primarily from the NCERT book with a few analytical questions, the real surprise was the Physics paper which had questions interlinking two or more concepts,” he said.
Dr H.N. Subramanyam, Head of Physics Department, BASE felt that about 45% of the questions were easy, while 35% and 20% of them were moderate difficult respectively.
Tight security
While the security procedure and stringent measures taken for entry to test centres continued this year as well, it caused discomfort to some students. A female student at a centre in Malleswaram was asked to remove her Niqad and Hijab to enter the centre. However, on insisting that she could not do so, she was allowed to take the test after a complete security check up.
