Anudeep Durishetty beat previous toppers
New Delhi: The recently released UPSC marksheet for the civil services 2017 examination shows that Anudeep Durishetty, the topper of UPSC from Telangana has scored 55.6 per cent.
The 27-year-old scored 1,126 marks out of a total 2,025 marks i.e. 950 in the written examination and 176 in the interview. The written exam has a weightage of 1,750 and the interview has 275 marks.
Anudeep scored higher than the toppers in 2015 and 2016. The 2015 topper, Tina Dabi, scored 52.49 per cent and 2016 topper Nandini KR scored 55.3 per cent.
The second rank holder of 2017 Anu Kumar gave a tough competition to Anudeep with 55.50 per cent and 1,124 marks, two marks lesser than Anudeep.
Sachin Gupta, who ranked third, got 55.40 per cent marks -- 946 in the written exam and 176 in the interview.
The result of the civil services examination 2017 was declared on April 27.
Himankshi Bharadwaj, who got the 990th rank, got 40.98 per cent marks—830 (687 in written and 143 in interview).
The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages preliminary, main and interview to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
The civil services (preliminary) examination, 2017 was conducted on June 18, 2017. As many as 9,57,590 candidates had applied for it and 4,56,625 actually took it.
