Karimnagar: Untimely rains damaged mango crops and paddy that had been shifted to market yards at different parts of the district here. Low-lying areas in many mandals were inundated and scores of houses were damaged. Except Mahamuttaram, all the other 56 mandals of the district recorded moderate to heavy rainfall. Around 40 sheep died after being struck by lightening at Lingapur in Jagtial mandal. Untimely rains had caused losses to farmers earlier on April 5, 17, 25 and May 3.
