Hyderabad: With the time for election campaigns closing at 5 pm on Tuesday, the TRS has decided to intensify its campaign across the state. Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao stayed back at home on the day Ugadi, but he will address a public meeting on Sunday at Nirmal in Adilabad district. On Monday he will participate in a public meeting in the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency.
The Chief Minister has already covered Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Peddapally, Mahbubabad, Khammam, Medak, Zaheerabad, Bhongir, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool and Mahbubnagar. A public meeting organised at LB Stadium on March 30 to cover Malkajgiri and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies, which was to be addressed by Mr Rao, was cancelled due to low turnout of people.
The TRS leaders are expecting that Mr Rao will address public meetings on April 9, the last day of campaign, as the party has given seats to new faces, including minister T. Srinivas Yadav’s son Saikiran Yadav and Mr M. Rajasekhar Reddy, son-in-law of minister C. Malla Reddy.
Sources in the TRS said the party chief has instructed the ministers and senior leaders who have been made in-charges of the constituencies to intensify the campaign and ensure that their voice reached every house each of the village in the 16 Lok Sabha segments.
TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao is campaigning in Secunderabad, Chevella, Malkajgiri and Karimnagar. In the last days of campaigning, he is likely to take part in more road shows in Secunderabad, Chevella and Malkajgiri segments.
Sources said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao has asked his ministers and party leaders to concentrate on Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Chevella, Nizamabad and Bhongir segments to give a tough fight to the Congress and the BJP in the elections.
