Thrissur: Many injury marks on Neethu's body

Thrissur: There were several injury marks on the body of Neethu, 22, a resident of Chiyyaram here, who was stabbed and set on fire by her jilted lover Nideesh on Thursday. This was revealed by sources from the forensic department at Thrissur MCH where her postmortem was conducted.

Besides a deep injury on her neck, there were several other injury marks and knife injuries on her body. The police surgeon who conducted the post-mortem had cross-checked the number of injuries with those mentioned in the inquest report submitted by the Nedupuzha police and those found on the body while doing post-mortem.

 

Nedupuzha CI A.V. Biju said that the exact number of injuries and the reason for death could be confirmed only after getting the detailed post-mortem report.

The relatives of Nidheesh, 27, of Vadakkekkad near Kunnamkulam here said that both Nidheesh and Neethu were close to each other.Nideesh has posted several of their pictures together on his Facebook profile 'Nideesh Kallukkadan.'

A few days ago, Nideesh's mother had gifted the girl a watch brought by his brother from abroad and she had called her over the phone to thank her for the gift which was handed over by Nideesh. Both of them used to visit each other's homes during festivals, it is learnt.

For a few days before the murder, Nidheesh was upset and the reason for the provocation that led to the crime was yet to be ascertained, said the relatives. However, CI Biju said "rejection of love was the reason for the murder."
