Telugu Desam to make Andhra Pradesh hub for manufacturing
Vijayawada: Telugu Desam president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released the party’s 2019 election manifesto at the CM’s camp office in Amaravati on Saturday.
After performing special pujas on the occasion of Ugadi, Mr Naidu announced the TD election manifesto, Mee Bhavishyattu Naa Badhyata (your future my responsibility), at about 2 pm. He said that the party was approaching the elections with the 175-seat Assembly with ‘Mission 150+’.
Highlighting his achievements, he said that the AP government had won 730 awards from the Centre in the past five years and that the state has stood first in the country on several parameters.
He also said that 75 per cent of the work had been completed at Polavaram and that Amaravati would become the fifth biggest city.
Mr Naidu said that he had a vision of making AP a horticulture and manufacturing hub. The manifesto mentions the continuation of Annadhata Sukhi-bhava to farmers, Pasupu Kumkuma to women and free smartphones to them, laptops to students, an increase in social security pensions to the elderly to Rs 3,000, 12 hours free power for agriculture during the day, an increase in Chandra-nna Bima cover from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, and a plan to provide Rs 20,000 income to every family, among many others.
Mr Naidu promised that plans will be drawn to provide 2.5 lakh jobs in the IT sector and 3 lakh jobs in the electronics sector, and to provide free Wi-Fi zones at all the important junctions in towns and cities. Apart from this, Rs 5,000 crore in price stabilisation funds will be provided for farmers. Annually, the Annadatha Sukhi-bhava scheme is applied for the farmers and comprises provisions for interest-free loans to the farmers without an upper cap and also for micro-irrigation development.
