Odisha minister Niranjan Pujari faces anger of Kutasira villagers

According to reports, the villagers questioned the minister about lack of developmental activities in the region.

BHUBANESWAR: In embarrassment for the ruling BJD, its senior leader and minister Niranjan Pujari faced public wrath during a poll meeting at Kutasira village under Tarabha block in the district on Friday, a video that went viral on social media revealed on Saturday.

Pujari, who is BJD’s candidate from Sonepur Assembly constituency, was opposed by villagers during the poll meeting.

According to reports, the villagers questioned the minister about lack of developmental activities in the region.

Enraged over the protest, the minister was seen in the video asking the villagers whether he should the stop the meeting midway.

It is not for the first time that Mr Pujari has been at the receiving end. In another video earlier, the minister was seen allegedly threatening a villager during a meeting at Karlajuri village. Comments from Pujari on the viral videos could not be obtained as he remained incommunicado.
