Mandava Venkateswara Rao joins TRS day after K Chandrasekhar Rao met him

The Chief Minister had met Venkateswara Rao at his residence in Gayatri Hills in Hyderabad on Friday and invited him into the party.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam leader and former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao on Saturday joined the Telangana Rashtra Samiti at an event held in Pragathi Bhavan in the presence of the TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Mr V. Ravichandra, a Congress leader from Warangal district, also joined the TRS on the occasion.

The Chief Minister had met Mr Venkateswara Rao at his residence in Gayatri Hills in Hyderabad on Friday and invited him into the party.

It is said that Mr Venkateswara Rao has a strong grip on politics in four Assembly segments in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency where Ms K. Kavitha, current MP and the daughter of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, is contesting for a second time.

The invitation to Mr Venkateswara Rao by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao to join the party has significance in view of around 180 turmeric and red jowar farmers filing nominations in the constituency to fight the elections in protest against the state government not ensuring remunerative prices for their produce.
