Hyderabad: Idea Cellular’s network coverage slumped totally in the Andhra Pradesh telecom circle covering the Telugu States of AP and TS on Friday, leaving several users infuriated. Subscribers were facing issues such as no network service and no data service, eventually leading to dropped calls, missed emails, slow downloads and almost no connectivity. While some of them took to social media to vent their ire, other users expressed their desire to shift to other services.
Techie N.M. Kumar said, “I have been struggling with the network issue, tried restarting and did every kind of troubleshooting on my phone. People who are trying to contact me were telling that my number is invalid or busy. Almost through the day, callers get message that this phone is switched off or out of coverage area, and when I try to make calls, nothing happens and calls just don’t go through.”
Idea customer care was aware of the complaints, and finally made attempts to fix the issue on Friday in the AP Circle. Some subscribers said their internet connection was also not working. A user said, “Even phone data is not working. I am using hotspot of my friend to access emails and other apps.” Idea claimed that many subscribers would encounter problems throughout the day as the network attributed this to fixing a recurrent issue faced by subscribers. An official said, “There is a temporary downtime in AP circles. It will get resolved by end of the day.”
