Chennai: A 38-year old woman died under the wheels of a MTC bus when
she was riding pillion with her husband beneath the Parthasarathy Bridge near Mint on Wednesday evening. Police identified deceased as Govindammal a resident of Manali.
On Wednesday evening she was riding pillion with her husband Subramani towards Stanley hospital to visit her hospitalised mother, when the accident happened. When they reached under the bridge, Subramani tried to overtake a funeral procession in front.
In the process the bus hit their bike from behind, Both fell down and bus ran over Govindammal killing her on the spot, police said. Driver of he bus is missing, police added.
