Bengaluru: An Assistant Executive Engineer attached to Jigani unit of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) Bharat Chowhan was trapped by Lokayukta sleuths in Bengaluru on Tuesday while he allegedly received a cash of Rs 28,000 as bribe from a customer to get power connection.
Lokayukta officials said Shashishekar, a resident of Nanjapura village of Anekal taluk in Bengaluru rural district had applied for power connection and it is alleged that the Assistant Executive Engineer Bharat Chowhan demanded an amount of Rs 28,000 to get the power connection approved. Based on a complaint from the customer, Lokayukta sleuths laid a trap.
