Students and activists staged a protest at the hostel, demanding that the government pay compensation to his family.

Hyderabad: Apparently depressed because the state government was not releasing notifications for jobs, a differently-abled graduate committed suicide in the city on Tuesday. Police said B Mahender (30) from Nalgonda district hanged himself in his room at the government hostel for the differently-abled in Vanasthalipuram.

Students and activists staged a protest at the hostel, demanding that the government pay compensation to his family.

This is the second such incident in the city; in December 2017, a post-graduate student from Osmania University E Murali hanged himself in the hostel.

After graduating from college B Mahender had moved to the city and was living in the hostel for the past 11 years. He worked in different private firms. His most recent job was at the TSRTC bus pass counter near LB Nagar.
