JNTU-Hyderabad students claim website bug
Hyderabad: The convocation of the Students of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad, which is due for three years, may be held in April, but students are facing trouble while applying for their original degrees certificates online.
The JNTU-H had released a notification on February 23 regarding the convocation and informed the students that they could apply online for their certificates by paying Rs 600.
Students who tried to apply for the certificates said the website was directing to a pre-convocation mode for which the fee was Rs 2,900.
Former student S. Vuppala who is waiting for the convocation to receive his certificates said, “As JNTU-H is conducting its convocation after three years most students are not even aware of it. The university must provide some more time to apply.”
MTech student T. Surender said, “The university has mentioned a deadline of March 17 but there are issues in the mode of the payment with the server. The university must fix this to prevent last minute pressure on the students.”
Asked about the problems, JNTU-H director of evaluation Dr B. Anjaneya Prasad said, “Students must have keyed in their provisional certificates number because of which they are being directed to the pre-convocation mode,” Prasad said.
