Hyderabad: Schoolboy goes missing

The missing student, Beemanapally Ajay Kumar, is a Class IX student of Telangana Social Welfare School.

Hyderabad: A 13-year-old student went missing on Sunday from the Telangana Residential School Hostel of Kuntloor.The missing student, Beemanapally Ajay Kumar, is a Class IX student of Telangana Social Welfare School. A complaint was lodged by Bashapala Srinaiah, a part time teacher at the school. Police has started an investigation.

The teacher said that on Sunday night, while he was on duty on the first floor, the boy left the hostel. The teachers and others looked for him on the campus and in surrounding areas in vain. The boy’s parents were informed by the hostel authorities. Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham said that the hostel warden, Anjaiah, and other staffers were imposing corporal punishment on inmates. It demanded immediate rescue of the boy and action against the warden, stating that children going missing from orphanages and hostels have become regular.

They said that just two days back, children went missing from Divya Disha Orphanage.The Sangham said the government should cancel the recognition of orphanages if children goes missing. The Sangham said warden Anjaiah should be suspended.
