Molestation case: Ravela Kishore Babu points finger at Jagan Mohan Reddy

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh minister Ravela Kishore Babu, whose son Susheel has been accused of outraging the modesty of a woman in the city, has claimed that Susheel was innocent and was made an accused at the behest of YSR Congress President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Speaking to newsmen at his residence here on Sunday, the minister, who on Saturday said that he will not make any statement about the incident and expressed full confidence in the law, changed tack and said Jagan had pressured the Telangana police to arrest his son. He said the Hyderabad police had put only driver Appa Rao’s name in the FIR but then altered the case with new sections including IPC 354.

He said that when his son Susheel and Appa Rao were attacked by locals, police did not act on the complaint. “There was no need to arrest my son in the case but they detained him illegally. I believe the police acted at the behest of Jagan Mohan Reddy who was unable to fight me politically,” the minister said. He expressed confidence that his son will come out from the case unscathed.

“Jagan Mohan Reddy is anti-Dalit. He was conspiring against me and through Sakshi was spreading scandalous reports. Now he has resorted to this to implicate my son in a crime he was not at all involved in,” Ravela said.

Telangana Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy told newsmen that the police will not act at the behest of anyone.
