Left parties to protest Narendra Modi's Andhra Pradesh visit
Rajahmundry: The CPI and CPM have called a protest against the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to AP on February 10. The parties wondered as to how the PM could visit the state despite failing to implement several provisions of the split Act and also assurances to benefit the state.
East Godavari CPI district secretary T. Madhu called upon party supporters to stage a protest at all mandal headquarters in the district on February 9 in protest against the Centre for giving a raw deal to the state.
He also called for a ‘Chalo Guntur’ programme on February 10 to stage a protest opposing the visit of the PM. He said, “We will not allow PM Modi to step into the state as he failed to fulfil the sanction of special category to the state so that several unemployed people could get jobs and also allocation of adequate funds for building the state capital city Amaravati.”
East Godavari CPM district secretary T. Arun wondered as to how PM Modi could visit the state as he failed to fulfil his assurances.
