Hyderabad police to probe Jayaram murder case
Vijayawada: The AP police have decided to transfer the murder case of NRI industrialist Chigurupati Jayaram to the Telangana police to avoid controversy.
The murder of Jayaram took place at Hyderabad but his body found in a car and was seen thrown in the farmland near Aitavaram.
AP DGP R.P. Thakur said that the case was linked to Hyderabad and hence after getting legal clearance, it would be transferred.
There were allegations that the AP police spared Jayaram’s niece P. Madhuri alias Sikha Chowdary in the case. Also, Jayaram’s wife Padmasri said that she did not trust the AP police investigation.
Meanwhile, Nandigama police conducted medical tests on accused K. Rakesh Reddy and D. Srinivas in the government hospital and later produced them in court. They were sent to 14 days judicial remand and shifted to Nandigama sub-jail.
Rumours are doing rounds that Rakesh Reddy has links with several political leaders.
Allegations are also being aired about the role of police in “overlooking” the role of Sikha Chowdary and confining the investigation to the statement of accused Rakesh.
