Dairy meet to be held in Kerala after 30 years
KOCHI: The 46th National Dairy Industry Conference organised by Indian Dairy Association (IDA) will be held in Angamaly from Thursday to Saturday. The event, to be attended by farmers, professionals, technocrats and policy makers, is coming to Kerala after a gap of 30 years. Minister for animal husbandry and dairying K. Raju will inaugurate the conference. Dilip Rath, chairman of National Dairy Develo-pment Board will deliver the key note address.
More than 2,000 people are expected to take part in the meeting. The three day event will have exclusive farmer and technical sessions and an exhibition of dairy processing equipment and allied appliances. The theme for the conference has been selected meticulously by a team of experts based on the contemporary issues of the dairy industry.
The National Dairy Plan being implemented by National Dairy Development Board with the support of the Centre is envisioning productivity and nutrition of dairy cattle and the theme of the Dairy Industry Conference will effectively get with it. According to IDA, it has become necessary that efficiency in milk production should be improved through increased animal productivity especially in the field of animal breeding and nutrition.
