KOCHI: Auxiliary arch bishop in Ernakulam – Angamaly archdiocese Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath has lashed at Cardinal George Alencherry over the land deal which rocked the Syro Malabar church during a recently held Presbyterian council meeting. An audio has been leaked to the media in which Mar Adayanthrath has raised serious allegations against the Cardinal. “When I asked details of the land deal, the Cardinal insulted me and even questioned integrity of my priesthood. He has not given any details of the deal despite repeated requests,” he alleged.
“It has been decided in the advisory council meeting to sell Church properties to clear dues and I have signed in the minutes of the meeting. But I have no clues about the series of incidents which occurred after that. I have to face insult when asked details of the deal. The Cardinal, Fr. Joshy Puthuva, Archdiocese procurator and Mon Sebastian Vadakkum-padan, vicar general of Archdiocese have not furnished any details of the deal so far, which is mysterious,” said Mar Adayanthrath.
The arrogant and dominating Cardinal has failed to lead the Church collectively and never taken others into confidence. The Church had to face such an embarrassing situation because of the arrogant attitude of the Cardinal, he remarked.
