The students shared their experiences with the High Commissioner on the animosity between the local residents and the African community in the city. They told him that African students in East Bengaluru were being treated better, but not Hesaraghatta.

Mr Kijazi told the students to behave well with locals, respect their leadership.
“He said he was very sorry for us, and the government has decided to give us full security. He asked us if we liked to continue with our studies and we said yes,” said a student who did not want to disclose his name as the High Commissioner had asked them not to talk to the media.
