Puttaranga need not quit over cashgate: DK Shivakumar
We will give a fitting reply to BJP during next session, DK Shivakumar said.

Bengaluru: Taking a swipe at BJP leaders, who are demanding the resignation of Minister Puttaranga Shetty, Water Resources Minister, D.K. Shivakumar said the ruling coalition partners know how to handle such situations.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr Shivakumar said, “We are prepared to give a fitting reply during the next legislature session itself. We are prepared for it.” Defending Mr Shetty, the minister insisted that he need not resign because one of his staff members was caught by the police for carrying unaccounted cash on the Vidhana Soudha premises. “How sensible is it to demand Mr Shetty’s resignation over his staff member’s alleged involvement? I believe Mr Shetty should not resign as minister,” he asserted.
Training his guns on BJP leaders, Mr Shivakumar said, “I know this game very well. People have still not forgotten the leaders who took bribe through cheque. Let’s debate it in the next legislature session, I will respond to the allegations heaped on me as well,” he retorted.
On the I-T raids on him and his family members, he said he was ready to be hanged if he was ever caught doing something wrong.
“My conscience is clear. I am a hard working and industrious businessman. I have earned my income through legal and honest means. Hence I need not worry much about it,” he said.
