IIT-Madras student from Udupi gets 100 percentile in CAT

Niranjan, who is doing his final year Mechanical Engineering at IIT-Madras, wanted to pursue economics and appeared for CAT exam in 2018.

Udupi: Niranjan Prasad M. from Udupi district, who is doing his Mechanical Engineering, scored a 100 percentile in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018.

"I am really happy. After CAT, now I would like to get admission into IIM Ahmedabad and do specialisation in finance. I want to contribute to the Indian economy," he said.

Niranjan, who is doing his final year Mechanical Engineering at IIT-Madras, wanted to pursue economics and appeared for CAT exam in 2018.

"I wanted to do engineering and joined IIT. Meanwhile, my interest in the field of economy grew. IIT provides good opportunity to explore and I did some economic courses too along with Mechanical Engineering here," Niranjan said.

He got into IIT after securing 96.4 in the 12th (CBSE). His father Jayadev Prasad Moleyar is the head of MBA at MITE- Moodabidri. His mother is professor of Computer Science in MAHE.
