YSRC assures Muslims sub-plan for well-being
TIRUPATI: I will bring out a sub-plan for Muslims said YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at minority meeting in Punganuru of Chittoor district, during his ongoing 54th day of Praja Sankalpa Yatra. “Sub-Plan is essential for alleviating the plight of Muslims. To alleviate the community will take concrete steps towards the development of the community. During 2014 elections, AP CM Naidu had promised an Islam Bank for giving interest-free loans to poor Muslims and bringing out a sub-plan for the community with a corpus of Rs 2,500 crore. Has anyone seen the Islam Bank,” the leader of Opposition questioned and added, "I am commiting to pay a monthly honorarium of Rs 5000 to Mauzens and Rs 10,000 to Masjid Imams. Amma Vodi scheme will ensure that two children from every poor family are sent to school and Rs 15,000 would be credited to their mother's account directly."
Earlier Mr Reddy began his padayatra by interacting with contract employees of AP Tourism Department near Godkavaripalli village under Punganuru constituency. It was brought to the notice of the Opposition leader of AP Assembly that the government has cheated them by not fulfilling his promise of regularising the contract employees. Around, 1,060 contract employees have been working in the department. They urged Mr Reddy to implement the Supreme Court’s ruling on “Equal pay for equal work” and regularise their jobs. He assured that it will be implemented along with a comprehensive study across departments to solve the issues of regularisation of employees in the state.
