Tight security for Yogi Adityanath's event in Bengaluru

Around 50,000 BJP workers are expected to participate in the event organised at the Balagangadharanatha Grounds.

Bengaluru: As Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to address the BJP’s Parivarthana Rally at Govindaraj Nagar on Sunday, the city police have beefed up security at the venue.

Around 50,000 BJP workers are expected to participate in the event organised at the Balagangadharanatha Grounds. Speaking about the security arrangements, Police Commissioner T. Suneel Kumar told Deccan Chronicle that the UP CM enjoys ‘Z’ category security cover of central paramilitary commandos and that the city police have made security arrangements accordingly.

With communal tension in coastal areas after the murders of Deepak Rao (28) in Surathkal and Paresh Mesta (21) in Honnavar, the city police are cautious. Many people from the coastal belt are expected to participate in the event.

“We will deploy adequate police personnel at the venue,” Mr Kumar said.
