Bengaluru: In third such incident, a debt-ridden 26-year-old man shot a video of himself before committing suicide in Mahalakshmi layout police limits on Friday evening. In the video, he requested no one to take loans.
The deceased, Rajesh, was a resident of J.C. Nagar, Kurubarahalli, 16th Main and worked at the marketing unit of a private company. He had taken a loan of R. 25,000 from a financer, which he could not repay. Also, he was depressed because of unrequited love. He hanged himself in the house, while his parents were out, video recording the entire gruesome incident on his mobile phone. His brother came home from work and found Satish hanging from the ceiling, the police said.
In the video, he said that no one should take loans from financers. He also requested his lender not to trouble his family, as was the one who took the loan and not the family. He said that he was depressed as his girlfriend broke up with him and that she should not have walked away from him.
On December 5 last year, a cab driver, Anil, who was depressed after the loan recovery staff of a reputed bank allegedly harassed him and his family. The loan recovery agents had warned him that they would auction his house if the loan is not repaid. In a video he recorded before committing suicide, he said that no one should take loans from the banks. The incident took place in the Byappanahalli police station limits.
In another incident, on December 19, a debt-ridden realtor, Somashekar Reddy, who was upset over huge losses in his business and depressed over not being able to repay the loan, hanged himself from the ceiling of his office in Konanakunte police station limits.
