Patna: The Bihar police have not been able to make any breakthrough in the murder case of a young girl whose charred body was recovered on the outskirts of Kukudha village under the Itadhi police station area in Buxar district.
The local police suspect that the girl, who appears to be a minor, was shot dead and burnt after being allegedly raped by the criminals. The police’s primary investigation in the case suggests that the incident had occurred either on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
Unable to make any headway in the case, the police has now decided to constitute a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the brutal murder and also to trace the whereabouts of all those who have been involved in the case.
Sources said that police officials are also waiting for the forensic team to confirm whether the girl was gang-raped before being shot dead.
On Tuesday, a five-member team was constituted to conduct the
post-mortem and submit a report within 24 hours.
A forensic team and dog squad were also pressed into service to assist the police in the investigation....
