A few months later, their ties strained and they mutually decided to get divorced at a Swedish court.

Bengaluru: The Kengeri police have filed a B-report in a POCSO case, in which a 37-year-old software engineer was accused by his wife of sexually assaulting their six-year-old daughter.

The police have concluded that the woman, Tanushree Sandhya Jha, had filed false complaints against her husband Avinash Jha in April to keep her daughter's custody.

According to police inspector B.K. Shekhar of Kengeri police station, who had investigated the case, the complaints filed by Jha's former wife were baseless.Avinash and Tanushree got married in 2006 and they have two daughters aged six and one. The duo along with their two daughters went to Sweden on job assignments.

A few months later, their ties strained and they mutually decided to get divorced at a Swedish court.

However, the Swedish court ordered the elder daughter’s custody to Avinash while his wife got the custody of the younger one. The couple along with their children returned to Bengaluru in April 2016.

While Tanushree left for her hometown Patna along with her one year old daughter, Avinash lived with the elder one in the city. However, Tanushree used to frequently visit her elder daughter in Bengaluru and later demanded her custody, which Avinash declined. Tanushree then filed multiple complaints against Avinash accusing him of sexually assaulting their daughter. After a thorough investigation the police found that Tanushree's accusations were baseless. In their B-report, the police said the woman had filed false complaints to defame her former husband in order to get the custody of elder daughter.
