Lawrence's grandson at BJP function again
Thiruvananthapuram: Milan Emmanuel Joseph seems to be averse to following in the footsteps of his grandfather, veteran CPM leader M. M. Lawrence. The higher secondary student attended yet another BJP programme on Wednesday unmindful of the criticism raised against him. He went to the satyagraha venue of BJP state general secretary A. N. Radhakrishnan in front of the secretariat and told reporters that the Sabarimala protest is not political, but religious. It may be recalled that he had raised many eyebrows by going to the venue of the day-long fast undertaken by BJP state president P. S. Sreedharan Pillai in front of the police headquarters a few weeks ago.
He also criticised the arrest of BJP state general secretary K. Surendran.
"The last time, there was a move from the government to oust my mother from SIDCO. Its managing director asked my mother whether she had sought permission from the party before attending the BJP's protest programme," said Milan.
He said that he attended the BJP programme because of the Sabarimala issue. Meanwhile, Kerala Janapaksham leader P. C. George, who is supporting BJP MLA O. Rajagopal in the Assembly, informed that he will not support the activities of the BJP outside. George is yet to meet Radhakrishnan at the satyagraha pandal.
