NELLORE: Rain lashed in most parts of SPSR Nellore district on Tuesday and Wednesday. Low lying areas got inundated in various parts of Nellore. Railway under bridges turned into cesspools and an RTC bus got stuck at Ramalingapuram under bridge on Wednesday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Nellore district recorded an average rainfall of 32.4 mm during the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday.
Podalakur received the highest rainfall of 136 mm (13.6 cm), followed by 97 mm at Vidavalur, 95.4 mm at Chejerla, 85.8 mm at Kodavalur, 72.6 mm at Anantasagaram, 63.6 mm at Chillakur, 62.2 mm at Gudur, 59.0 mm at Chittamur, 57.4 mm at Thotapalligudur, 56 mm Marripadu and 46.2 mm at Muthukur. Other mandals also received moderate rainfall. Nellore city recorded 32.2 mm and the down pour continued on Wednesday also.
