Cyberabad police seizes Rs 17.5 lakh from TDP leader's house

The members of the surveillance team moved to the back side of the house and found two persons running away with two bags.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police seized Rs 17.5 lakh cash which was thrown out in two bags from the house of Telugu Desam Party leader and Andhra Pradesh SC Cooperative Finance Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakar Rao at KPHB on Wednesday night and apprehended two persons.

According to the Cyberabad police, the static surveillance teams of Cyberabad commissionerate which received information about presence of cash at Jupudi Prabhakar’s house at Balajinagar in KPHB Colony, have rushed to his home at night. When the police team knocked the door of Prabhakar, he did not open it for a long time.

The members of the surveillance team moved to the back side of the house and found two persons running away with two bags. The teams caught two persons and found Rs 17.5 lakh cash with them, the police said.

Confirming this, Cyberabad police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said, “There were inputs to the static surveillance team about the cash at Jupudi Prabhakar’s house in KPHB. Even after the team knocking door for a long time, he did not open the door. As the team moved to the back side of the house of the house, they found two persons running away with bags containing cash which were thrown from the house of Prabhakar.”
