Woman, daughter come under train near Hejjala

The daughter was handicapped and speech impaired and this is suspected to be the reason behind the extreme step.

BENGALURU: A 42-year-old woman and her 21-year-old daughter ended their lives by coming under a moving train near Hejjala in City Railway police station limits on Monday morning.

The daughter was handicapped and speech impaired and this is suspected to be the reason behind the extreme step.

The deceased have been identified as Girijamma and Shwetha, residents of Babasapalya.

According to the police, the duo ended their lives somewhere between Kengeri and Hejjala, on Monday evening. Some passersby found the bodies and alerted the police.

The police, who established the identity of both the women, traced Girijamma’s husband, an auto driver.

“When he was questioned, he told that Girijamma was depressed as Shwetha had disabilities. He suspected this could have driven them to end their lives.

However, we have taken up a case and are investigating,” the police added.
City Railway police have registered a case.
