3 AIADMK cadres die of shock in western districts
COIMBATORE / SALEM: Saddened by the critical condition of the Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, three AIADMK party cadres including an elderly woman died of shock in Coim-batore, Salem and Erode districts.
Police said on Monday that 60-year-old Palaniammal, an AIADMK functionary from NGO Colony, was shocked to learn that the Chief Minister had suffered a cardiac arrest. "She was watching television on the critical condition of the CM, when she suffered a shock and collapsed by the unfortunate developments," police said.
Similarly in Erode, N Raju, 38, a daily wager from Ambedkar Nagar was watching news in television about the critical condition of Ms J. Jayalalithaa, when he swooned in a sitting position. His wife Gandhimathi informed the '108 ambulance', who rushed to the spot and found him dead after an examination.
Raju is an AIADMK member of ward 20, and is survived by three children, a 15-year-old girl, and two boys aged four and two respectively. The Veerapansathiram police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
In another incident, Jayaraman, 55, an AIADMK party functionary from Chinnappan Street in Arisipalayam in Salem district suffered a cardiac arrest while watching television on the status of CM's health condition at his residence on Monday afternoon, police said.
The family members rushed him to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Jayaraman is survived by wife Logambal, three daughters and a son, police added.
