HC adjourns hearing on knife attack case on Jagan till Nov. 15

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing on the bail plea of J. Srinivasa Rao, the accused in the knife attack case on then leader of the opposition and present Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, to November 15.

A division bench comprising Justice U. Durga Prasad Rao and Justice Mandava Kiranmayee heard the bail petition.

The petitioner's counsel argued that his client had been serving a long jail term and sought bail for him.

The National Investigation Agency's counsel sought time to file a counter-affidavit.

After hearing both the parties, the court adjourned the case for the next hearing to November 15.

An attack was made on Jagan Mohan Reddy with a knife, causing an injury to his shoulder, when he was the leader of the opposition in the Assembly at Visakhapatnam airport in October 2018.
