A huge stormwater drain at Balkapur is blocked as it passes through the cantonment area in Mehdipatnam. The Azfarsagar drain also creating a problem as the water is not flowing and, in fact, reversing due to which the manholes are constantly overflowing.

MIM corporators, members of ward committees and members of the legislative assembly along with Asaduddin Owaisi, GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar, and others, inspected the areas from 6.30 am to 11 am.

The road-widening works at Hussaini Alam have not been carried out despite several representations. The two multi-level parking facilities near Charminar have still not been constructed and that is leading to major parking problems.

Tourists numbers are increasing in this area but facilities are not there, lamented MIM members. The junction improvement work from Owaisi Hospital to Apollo Hospitals DRDO has also not been carried out.

Mr Lokesh Kumar, took note of the problems and instructed his senior officers to look into them.

The Charminar Pedestrianisation project (CPP), which has come to a standstill, was also addressed as the Lad Bazaar area has many women who wear high heels have been slipping due to the uneven manner in which the tiles have been laid.
