Ten more held for Sabari violence; total now 3,741

According to police sources, the total number of arrests has reached 3,741 and the cases registered is 550.

Thiruvananthapuram: Ten more persons were held from various parts of the state in connection with the Sabarimala violence on Monday.

Fresh cases were registered against many BJP workers and others. Top police officers are monitoring the situation at Sabarimala and directing the policemen on the field. According to police sources, the total number of arrests has reached 3,741 and the cases registered is 550.

The Thampanoor police here registered cases against over 100 BJP workers for blocking KSRTC buses to Pampa on Monday on the basis of a petition by KSRTC authorities. No accused were named in the FIR, but about 100 activists who could be identified are arraigned," police sources said. To curb the protest against women’s entry at Sabarimala, the police are registering the maximum number of cases and arresting the accu-sed. Nonbailable sections were also invoked against many.
