KT Rama Rao says Telangana govt working on Hub-2

KT Rama Rao said the government has plans to lay fibre optic cables along with the 1.2-lakh km pipelines for the Water Grid project.

Hyderabad: Minister K.T. Rama Rao said Telangana state was poised to become the first in the country to provide broadband connections to all nine million households in 18 months. He said the government has plans to lay fibre optic cables along with the 1.2-lakh km pipelines for the Water Grid project.

The minister said the government was working towards reducing the digital divide and addressing the issues of lack of infrastructure and illiteracy. He said the state government was also implementing technological solutions to increase literacy levels.

Mr Rao said TS was the first state to have its own cyber security policy.
After addressing the ICANN meeting, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Mr Rama Rao visited the T-Hub in Gachibowli. Mr Rama Rao explained the various facilities and announced development of T-Hub 2.

“T- Hub clearly embodies what we believe India’s startup ecosystem should stand for. What T-Hub has done for India is impressive and we hope we can take this example to many states across the country. I will surely use this as an example of progress and innovation wherever I travel in theworld,” a release quoted Mr Prasad as saying.
