Upset over police probe, BMRCL staffer ends life
Bengaluru: Upset over allegations that he was behind a woman going missing and alleged harassment by BMRCL officials, a 25-year-old BMRCL staffer ended his life by hanging.
The incident took place at his house in Metro employees quarters in Sunkadakatte in Kamakshipalya police station limits on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh, who hailed from Hassan and was living with his mother and brother here. He was working in the Operations & Maintenance division of Namma Metro.
Police said that Santosh was found hanging by his brother on Thursday morning. He has left a five page suicide note explaining the reasons that led to his extreme step.
A woman close to him had gone missing for the last few days and her parents had suspected his involvement. Thus, the Chandra Layout police had summoned him to the station and had questioned. This had upset him and he felt humiliated.
“Also, he has mentioned that the BMRCL management was not employee friendly and were frequently introducing new rules and he was feeling harassed by this. He has mentioned these two reasons that led him to take the hasty step. We have taken up an unnatural death case and are investigating,” the Kamakshipalya police said.
