Telangana: GAD to take a call on 24 selected ASO candidates
Vijayawada: Reacting to reports in these columns, GAD has finally decided to take a call over the pending file on recruitment of 24 selected candidates for the positions of Assistant Section Officers.
In fact, 24 out of the 40 selected candidates who appeared for personal verification on September 5 at the Secretariat have been waiting for appointment orders ever since.
But GAD-GoAP has not responded to the letter by GAD-Telangana, over the bifurcation of the candidates with reference to the notification number 10/99.
This latest development has irked the Government of Telangana, as it is more than a month since they wrote a letter to GAD GoAP.
The Principal Secretary-FAC (Services), GAD, Telangana Secretariat, had written a letter to the Special Chief Secretary-GAD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, on September 4 requesting to bifurcate the 63 ASOs between the Secretariats of both the states.
Also to undertake the bifurcation of the candidates, who were allotted by APPSC to the HoDs, based on their combined cadre strength as per the bifurcation ratio, according to the candidates’ place of origin, and to inform the same to the Government of Telangana. Their local addresses are also needed for communication and to take whatever action is required by the Government of Telangana, in compliance with the Supreme Court directions, according to the Principal Secretary (Services)-GAD, Telangana.
“It has also been requested to indicate the postings of ASOs, who were appointed pursuant of notification 10/99, and who are working at present at Telangana Secretariat, whether to relieve them or not,” the Principal Secretary (Services-FAC), GAD, Telangana has stated in that letter.
It may be recalled that a few ASOs of GAD have reportedly been hampering the interests of the already- selected candidates for various positions, with the support of two prominent NGO leaders, who lobbied for the ASOs in the Secretariat with the GAD department.
To implement the judgment delivered by the Supreme Court, these ASOs have lobbied for bringing out a separate GO, which has mentioned about the formation of a 7-member committee. Now the same 7- member committee is discussing the damage control exercise, according to Secretariat sources.
