Pak terror handlers frustrated, want 'spectacular strike' on Indian forces
Srinagar: Pakistani handlers are finding it increasingly difficult to have their sway over militants in the Kashmir Valley.
According to a report, there is growing frustration among the Pakistani handlers of sleeper cells and terrorists in the Valley.
The handlers are now getting desperate for a spectacular strike on Indian security forces, to boost the morale of their cadre, said the report.
An intercept recorded about a week back by Indian intelligence agencies showed that Pakistani handlers were repeatedly asking the sleeper cells and home grown militants to carry out a ‘big strike’ on security forces.
The handlers were heard telling the local terrorists to stop engaging in petty strikes and inflict some serious casualties, said the report.
Intelligence reports also suggest that the number of people participating in protests and stone pelting incidents in Kashmir has reduced significantly, signaling a decline in the influence of the Hurriyat Conference, which had spearheaded the unrest following the killing of militant Burhan Wani.
The increasing desperation of the handlers is being seen in terrorists targeting several military posts in the past few days including those on the intervening night of October 5-6.
After terrorists attacked and killed 18 Indian army soldiers in Uri on September 18, India had responded by striking terror launchpads across the Line of Control (LoC).
