Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government has issued a notification for conduct of election of the members of AP State Waqf Board in respect of category-IV under section 14 (1) (b) of Waqf Act, 1995. Minorities welfare secretary A. Md Imtiaz issued G.O. Ms No. 37 dated 29-08-2023 to notify the conduct of election.
Accordingly, election will be held at Shah Zahoor Musafirkhna in Vijayawada on September 9 from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm and counting of votes will be held soon after completion of the elections and results also will be declared immediately.
A list of validly nominated candidates has also been announced and they are: Shaik Khaja, Mohammed Mushtaq Ahamed, K.M. Shakeel Safi, Shaik Akram, K.S.S. Obedullah Hussainy. Moreover, electoral list of Muslim members from AP state Legislature has been published for election to two Muslim members for AP State Waqf Board under category (ii) of section 14 (1)(b) of Waqf Act, 1995.
The Muslim members from AP Assembly include Mohammed Mustafa Shaik from Guntur East constituency, Amzath Basha Shaik Bepari from Kadapa constituency, Abdul Hafeez Khan from Kurnool constituency and M. Nawaz Basha from Madanapalle constituency. Similarly, Muslim members from AP Council include Sabjee Shaik, Mohammad Ruhulla, Shaik Mohammed Issac Basha, Shaik Mohammed Iqbal and Mayana Zakia Khanam.
