Telangana gets 2 more national highways
Hyderabad: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) under the Union ministry of roads and highways on Tuesday announced two more national highways with a distance of 200 km and sanctioned Rs 690 crore for the development of the two highways.
Minister of roads and buildings Mr Thummala Nageswara Rao informed the media that the state highways Rangasaipet (Warangal) Mahbubabad (71 km) and Bhupalapally – Karimnagar (130 km) were upgraded as national highways.
“With the two new national highways, Telangana state has now got a total of 25 national highways after formation of the state. The national highways in Telangana will cover about 3,174 more kilometres apart from the existed National Highways,” he said.
The minister further added that the Central government had also approved the development proposals of another two national highways from Aramgharh in Rajendranagar to Shamshabad with six-lane at Rs 290 crore and Hyderabad-Narsapur-Medak with 2/4-lane at Rs 400 crore.
