Dr BR Ambedkar Open University flouts rules on setting up probe panel

Hyderabad: Authorities of Dr B.R. Ambedkar Open University have flouted service rules while constituting a committee to look into the scam by a computer operator. The enquiry committee announced by the vice-chancellor K. Sitarama Rao had Mr Venkat Rao from the finance department as convener.

According to varsity norms, the head of department where the scam has occurred, cannot be included in the enquiry panel. The computer operator Y.V. Rajeswar Rao, who is facing diversion of funds allegations, worked in the finance department where Mr Venkat Rao is finance officer.

When DC enquired about the V-C violating the norms, the registrar said, “A new convener will be announced on Wednesday.”
