Hyderabad: Union minister of state for home G. Kishan Reddy said, “For every Indian, the real Diwali is today.” Reacting to the revocation of Article 370, Mr Reddy said, “August 5 will remain in history forever. Happy being part of this decision”. Mr Reddy said 61 members voted against the Bill and 125 members were in its favour in the Rajya Sabha. These 125 members expressed the people’s opinion by voting in favour of the Bill. People from Kashmir to Kanyakumari were celebrating and J&K had become part in the development of nation.
Mr Reddy said every J&K citizen will get reservations and benefits of the Centre. Scrapping of Article 370 is not aimed at anyone, he said. “Independence Day will be celebrated in every part of Jammu and Kashmir like in other places of the country,” he said.
TS BJP spokesperson spokesperson K. Krishna Saagar Rao said called it a “historic day”. “We consider this day as the day of complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India.”
He said the will, courage and decisiveness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to have taken this historic initiative which will transform the geographical and administrative connect with Jammu and Kashmir forever, were admirable. The biggest beneficiary will be the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
