Centre is anti-Kerala: LDF

LDF convenor A. Vijayaraghavan alleged that there was nothing significant for Kerala in the Union budget.

Thiruvananthapuram: The LDF leadership has said policies adopted by the Union government are not helpful to Kerala in any manner.

LDF convenor A. Vijayaraghavan alleged that there was nothing significant for Kerala in the Union budget. The policies adopted by the government would stall the progress and development of the state. The privatisation of PSUs, crisis in farm sector and problem of rubber farmers were adding to the woes of the people.

The LDF leadership accused the Centre of ignoring state’s demands. It has denied All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to the state. Besides, the policies of the Centre are weakening the significant gains made by the state in health, education and social sector.

While adopting a soft stand on the Centre’s anti Kerala and anti people policies, the opposition Congress-led UDF seem to be taking a strident position against the Pinarayi Vijayan government. The Congress MPs had failed to rise up to the occasion and mobilise people against the BJP government.

CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan will inaugurate the protest march in front of Raj Bhavan while the others leaders, including Kanam Rajendran, R. Balakrishna Pillai, M.V. Govindan, Francis George Thomas Chandy, Sathyan Mokeri C.K. Nanu. Qasim Irikkur, A. Vijayaraghavan and E P Jayarajan will lauch the agitation in various districts.
