Bengaluru: In a heart wrenching incident, a mother allegedly jumped off the 20th floor of a posh apartment along with her seven-year-old daughter after a fight with her husband in Puttenahalli on Monday evening.
The woman in her mid-thirties has been identified as Jyothi P while her daughter is Shabuna. Both mother and daughter died on the spot.
Jyothi and her husband Pankaj were married for 12 years and were residing on the 20th floor of a posh apartment. While Pankaj had a hardware shop in Ashok Nagar, Jyothi was into modeling, the police said.
Pankaj allegedly frequently fought with Jyothi as he suspected her of having an illicit affair. According to police, on Sunday night, the couple fought again and Pankaj left the house in a huff.
Upset over the same, Jyothi along with her daughter jumped from 20th floor of the apartment on Monday evening. Police said that she had recorded a video before committing suicide.
The police shifted their bodies for postmortem and have recovered the video. Puttenahalli police have registered a case and are investigating.
