Six women bikers on a nationwide expedition

The national expedition is being carried out by the female employees of Federal Bank and has named as Motorcycle Angels'.

Bengaluru: Six women bikers, including one from Bengaluru, started their expedition from Kanyakumari to New Delhi to spread awareness on gender equality and women empowerment. They started their expedition on August 1 and arrived in the city on Saturday.

The national expedition is being carried out by the female employees of Federal Bank and has named as ‘Motorcycle Angels’.

The ride was flagged off on August 1 by R Sreelekha, DGP, Kerala police. During their

20-day expedition the riders will at every stopover, spread the message of women empowerment and lend confidence to sisterhood.

“We’ll have pit stops in different cities where we will hold public events and spread awareness about gender equality and women empowerment. We hope that our message will help them to gain courage and to empower themselves,” said Febina K.B., one of the riders from Kerala.

Lavanya, a resident of Basavanagudi in Bengaluru, said, “Women should come out of the shell, out of her comfort zone and start dreaming about their future and try to work towards it. They should stand up for themselves and start believing in themselves to achieve their goals.”

She further said that all six of them are from different cities and they do not know each other, but were united by their urge to help women empower themselves.
