Hyderabad: The man who was dragged by a bike while crossing the road at Tank Bund — the video of which had gone viral early last month — has succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment on Saturday.According to the police, T. Venkateswarlu, 59, was dressed in a priest’s attire following his mother’s demise. Sub-inspector of Gandhinagar police M. Prasad said, “It was clearly seen that he was crossing the road in a hurry. He tried to outrun an RTC bus but couldn’t see the bike coming parallel to the bus.”
The speed limit at Tank Bund is 40 km/hr, but it is clear that he was coming at a higher speed. He couldn’t stop his bike and hit the pedestrian. The police registered a case under Section 337 of IPC and the police plan to add Section 304 (a) of IPC (causing death due to negligence).
